Four Motors for Europe

Four Motors for Europe and Associates together in Constance for the annual Economy group meeting (7th-8th October 2015)

The members of the Economy group (representatives from Baden-Württemberg, Catalonia, Lombardy, Rhône-Alpes, Wales and the Province of Québec) met on the 7th and 8th October in Meersburg and Constance right by Lake Constance, in the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg.

The choice of the venue was not a random one. Between 1414 and 1418, religious and secular dignitaries met in the bishop city of Constance to solve the political conflicts and the religious divisions that afflicted Europe at that time. The “Council of Constance”, whose 600th anniversary is currently celebrated, was a cornerstone of the European history and deeply contributed to the definition of a common identity. Therefore, the Economy group met in Constance in hopes to be inspired by the same wisdom and federal spirit as in the Council 600 years ago.

The meeting was intended to discuss about respective economic development and innovation policies with a focus on the “Industry 4.0”.
