During the ceremony, Laurent Wauquiez, President of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region introduced the strategic themes of the new presidency of the Four Motors. The global aim is to keep pursuing the transition towards Smart Regions, as it has been the common thread over the past years. Three themes were decided to direct the activities : the digital transformation of industries, the transition towards a green economy, and the developement of Cultural and creative industries (CCIs).
Digitalisation, training and employment are at the core of these transformations.
During his speech in Barcelona, Laurent Wauquiez also took the opportunity to remind what the vocation and the potential of the Four Motors for Europe are. These “territories of excellence”, armed with a strong economy and a dynamic of innovation must work together to revitalise Europe. The Four Motors for Europe collaboration is a symbol of an active Europe, full of prospects and projects.
